Qatar Lumber was established in 2004 and was the very first company in Qatar to provide solutions for Melamine from cutting to edge banding in addition to boards and solid wood trading. Since our aim was to deliver a better service to our valuable customers; we decided in 2006 to focus only on Boards and Hardware solutions and giving up solid wood... trading but keeping the veneer section and the pressing section. The commencement of Qatar Lumber is based on Michel Kannan & Sons Group of companies, and was owned and part of MKS group. This reputed company (MKS) has been in the wood trading business since over 50 years based in Lebanon and has branches in Africa and Syria. Michel Kannan group (MKS) is one of the biggest and leading wood trading companies in Lebanon if not the biggest and Qatar Lumber was established by Mr. Nidal Kannan the chairman of the board of MKS group. The company was the first to introduce the laminated chipboard to the Qatari Market; and eventually took the melamine trading in Qatar to the next level.
