Monitoring the state of the nervous system in real-time during surgery alerts surgeons of potential evolving neurologic injury and may allow for corrective actions to be implemented to prevent permanent deficits, thus improving safety and surgical outcomes. Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) extends this principle specifically to the... neuraxis, providing the surgical team with real-time feedback during surgeries that involve the brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nervous system (either directly or indirectly). This has allowed for prompt interventions intraoperatively that have been shown to reduce post-surgical incidence of paralysis, muscle weakness, sensory deficits, hearing loss, as well as other new neurologic deficits. How Will IONM Affect The Flow Of Your Procedures? Monitoring your cases WILL NOT impede your case or your case flow! Based on years of focused effort to streamline neuromonitoring, the set up process can be completely set up by the Monitorist within a few minutes, and, monitored outside your procedure field. For each surgery, we provide both an onsite Monitorist and an offsite telemonitoring physician so the surgeon can get instant feedback. We serve as an extension of the surgical/medical teams and we are a service focused organization.
