Punctuate! Theatre is dedicated to creating work that showcase the diverse talent of Edmontons arts community, with a focus on artistic excellence. We are focused on engaging both Indigenous and non-Indigenous audiences alike, within Edmonton and region, as well as around Alberta and throughout Canada. To create work that is visually stimulating, i... ntellectually provocative, and emotionally compelling. To create work that encompasses diverse art forms, forging connections between Canadian artists of different disciplines to progress unity of all art forms. Led by Artistic Director and playwright Matthew MacKenzie (Mtis), Punctuate! Theatre is keenly interested in telling stories with Indigenous themes, in hiring a high proportion of Indigenous artists and in actively engaging Indigenous audiences. We wish to engage with and build a community of artists over time, exploring topics related to politics, science and art. Punctuate! Theatre works to create accessible, relevant, and subversive theatre that entertains and provokes thought amongst diverse audiences.
