as a life-long tinkerer and engineer i have always enjoyed creating. for a long time--or at least as long as my wife and i have been together--i have been telling her 'i could do that,' or 'i could make that,' anytime we saw a piece of furniture we liked. with woodworking, i started with making speaker and subwoofer enclosures. in college, i was ma... king workbenches and specialty equipment for lab spaces. as we began to grow as a family, i began making furniture for my family. i made furniture for my children because i wanted to provide something that would last and could grow with them through life and eventually go with them when they leave to start their own lives and families. this desire for creating and working with wood has grown and grown through the years and has been fostered by people i've met, and through watching some of the best woodworkers that youtube has to offer. as my thirst for creating and woodworking grew, i needed practice with new techniques i had learned (or wanted to learn) and i wanted to work with these beautiful species of woods that i had never worked with before. the down side was that i started making more 'things' than our house could hold--how many cutting boards or hall benches does one house need? at first i started to provide these handmade goods as christmas or birthday presents for members of my extended family. that only lasted so long. i upgraded to using my crafts as rewards or as a 'thank you' to people whom had paid me favors. but i knew i had to change something when i started giving cutting boards away as a 'thank you for coming over for dinner,' or 'we haven't seen you in a while' gifts. for now i am making and selling cutting boards, but i plan to expand my offerings into other areas. jewelry boxes, serving trays, and various household items will likely show up in the store. ornamental clocks have always been an interest of mine, as well as kinetic art so i may attempt a few items in those realms as well. if you have an idea for me or a request for some custom ...Read More
