About Prssa

In 1968, 20 years after its own establishment, the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) founded the Public Relations Student Society of America. The declared purpose of PRSSA is to cultivate a favorable and mutually advantageous relationship between students and professional public relations practitioners. Today The Public Relations Student Society of America has more than 9,600 members in 284 universities across the country. The Rulon L. Bradley Chapter of PRSSA was founded in 1969 and works closely with the PRSA Utah County Chapter. The Brigham Young University chapter of PRSSA provides a forum where students can network with professionals, create lasting relationships with their peers and develop their public relations skills. Our chapter meets every Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. in the second floor atrium of the Brimhall Building.BYU PRSSA wants every member to hold a position in our chapter. Members can join one of three committees (newsletter committee, events committee or chapter client committee) to gain experience and help our chapter grow and develop. What are the qualifications to join PRSSA? Any BYU student can join PRSSA. While our events and benefits are geared toward public relations students, we welcome all students. The time commitment depends on how much you want to invest in PRSSA. The more you put into the organization, the more you will get out of it. Member dues are $65 at the beginning of Fall and Winter semester (September and January) and $75 throughout the semester. Your dues are good for an entire calendar year and give you access to various benefits and opportunities provided by our local chapter and PRSSA on a national level.
