Provencio Advisory (PAS) provides revenue effectiveness services to Daughters of Charity Health System by performing quarterly reviews of accounts receivables, third party settlements and IBNR calculations for all of the system's hospitals. The scope of our review includes: Reviewing patient accounts receivable to determine the adequacy of contract... ual and bad debt reserves and determine compliance with DCHS policies Performing a review third party settlements to determine the adequacy of reserves and/or the realization of receivables Performing a review of the reserves for IBNR Designing a template for each hospital to assist the hospital in computing contractual and bad debt reserves Developing system-wide standardized policies and procedures for analyzing reserves for patient accounts receivables, third party settlements and accounting for capitated contracts and risk pools Additionally, PAS assisted in launching a system-wide revenue cycle task force chartered to implement improvements in revenue cycle performance through: Standardization of key revenue cycle processes (initially focused on front-end processes) Improving how technology is used (including identification of critical training needs) Consistent approach to interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements (e.g. EMTALA) Standardization of charge description masterRead More
