Prototype Design Inc. (est. 1985) provides laser cutting, punching, and general fabrication services in both low and high volumes. We serve customers in the aerospace, architecture, automotive, medical, scientific, and arts communities; these customers range from individual artists and blacksmiths, to large Fortune 500 companies. Our 7 full time an... d 3 part time employees have an average of more than 15 years with the company and offer a unique combination of skills and capabilities. Several of the newer employees have had decades of experience with other precision fabricators before joining the company. Prototype Design values and invests heavily in technology. From its start building specialized electronic systems, the company has become a wide ranging supplier of mechanical and electronic parts and systems to business and industry. An early implementer of laser cutting technology, we now have multiple laser cutting systems to support customers in the arts and industry. The company also embraced manufacturing with computer controlled machinery when there were relatively few such machines in the area. In 2000, our move to a 20,000 sq ft facility near Tecumseh, Michigan, gave us the capacity to pursue and complete larger scale architectural projects.
