Property Systems Corporation was founded in 1976 by Fred R. Freyer, Jr. and Richard J. Uberto. Fred's background included several years in the land division of Adair Realty headquartered in downtown Atlanta followed by the successful founding and operation of his own firm, Berry & Freyer Land Company. Richard was hired by Fred in 1973 as a research... & graphics assistant. At the age of 18, Richard earned his real estate license & worked his way through college brokering real estate. From the beginning, the idea behind Property Systems was to find new ways of making real estate brokerage more enjoyable for clients through being a service oriented company. At first, Property Systems specialized in the sale of undeveloped land in the 15 county metropolitan Atlanta area. Many of Atlanta's finest shopping centers, subdivisions, industrial parks and offices are now situated on land once brokered by Property Systems. The greatest challenge to being successful in the increasingly complex commercial real estate market was the steep learning curve that new agents faced in becoming knowledgeable. In 1980, Richard & Fred began solving that problem by developing a teamwork approach to brokering real estate. This teamwork approach worked very well and led to many notable sales in the Atlanta area for the commercial division. The early days of Property Systems provided the opportunity to experiment with different approaches to the teamwork concept as well as developing a more aggressive approach to real estate sales. This philosophy has continued through to the present. Launched by that growing success, Property Systems branched into other areas of the real estate industry, including the management of single-family homes. In 1984, Bob Safford along with Fred & Richard co-founded the Property Systems Management Company in Atlanta, which set the groundwork for Property Systems today.
