Promo-Shan Corp. was established and incorporated in January 2008 by Daniel Shantz and Robert Shantz. Daniel, a student at University of Western Ontario studying business and economics had taken a 1 year leave to teach English as a second language classes in China. While living in China Daniel found a banner pen which he thought would be a good pro... motional product to import into Canada. Upon returning to Canada, discussions continued with his father Robert, that they should form a corporation and start to import promotional products and other items from China. Robert, a self-employed businessman with an accounting background had experience operating a number of family businesses, including a school bus transportation company and managing an industrial mall. He thought this would be an opportunity for Daniel to put what he was studying at school, into practice. Promo-Shan Corp. was incorporated in January 2008 and Daniel and Robert started to import banner pens. During discussions with their customers, it became apparent that numerous other products, other than promotional items were being requested. As a result of these requests, the company quickly expanded into safety reflective t-shirts, jackets and vests. These safety items and some additional select products are imported under Promo-Shan's Protec-Shan label. In 2010, Andrew Schiedel, a former Director of Sales from Whistle Bear Golf Course joined the company. Andrew brought over 8 years of sales experience dealing with new member recruitment and banquet and tournament planning. Andrew's main objective was to ensure that members and customers had an exceptional experience while attending Whistle Bear functions. He bought this same passion to Promo-Shan Corp. On a day to day basis, Robert is responsible for the administration, accounts payable and accounts receivable while Daniel and Andrew are responsible for sales and exceptional customer service.
