So, you want to become a Project Dance Company Member? Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions How do I become a Company member? All current and prospective company members must register for a Company audition. Auditions will be held Saturday, May 11, Saturday, May 18, and Saturday, June 1 from 9:00 AM 12:00 PM. There are 25 sp... ots available for each day and are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis. Auditions are mandatory for ALL. There will be no exceptions. There are 75 spots available for the 2020/2021 Project Dance Company. What do I need for my audition? During your audition, you will be evaluated on all styles of dance ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, contemporary, and hip hop. Tap and Pointe evaluations will be offered at a later date. Dancers are expected to arrive dressed appropriately and with proper shoes. Ladies must wear a black leotard, pink tights, and a neat, slicked-back bun. Gentlemen must wear black tee, black tights, and long hair must be tied back. Dancers may bring versatile leggings or shorts for hip hop and modern. Required shoes are ballet, tap, clean sneakers no street shoes, jazz shoes, and paws are optional. Turners, pirouettes, and cheater shoes are NOT PERMITTED! Auditions will determine the Summer Session class placement. You will receive a notification via email assigning your suggested Summer schedule in a timely manner after your audition. What classes are mandatory for Company members? It is mandatory to participate in Project Dance Summer Session. Students 11 & over: 3 Master Class Mondays, Jazz, Ballet, Modern, Hip Hop, and one Miscellaneous Choice. Company Choreography Weeks There will be two weeks of group dance choreography in August. You are not required to be there every day, for every dance.
