Profke Aged Care Group

The Profke Aged Care Group (PACG) is made up of four Nursing Centres based in Noosa (Tewantin), Gympie, Coffs Harbour and South West Rocks. The group was founded by Margaret Profke in the late 1970's when she saw a need for a facility to cater for the aging patients she was caring for as a nurse at the Princess Alexander Hospital in Brisbane. Marga... ret's first home was Hester Haven in Pimpama near the Gold Coast which opened in 1979. In 1983 she sold the home in Pimpama and purchased that site that is now the Noosa Nursing Centre with 230 beds. Overtime Margaret's four sons became an integral part of the business and the group expanded with the acquisition of the Coffs Harbour and Gympie facilities. South West Rocks was also constructed as a result of a long term community drive to have an aged care facility established in the town. With other expansions over time the group now stands at 587 beds offering low care, high care and dementia specific services. The group employs over 600 people and seeks to be an active and integral participant in the special communities in which we are based. In 2012 Margaret and her sons took a step back from the day to day operational activities of the Group and employed a CEO to run the business.
