Our goal is producing the best performance Angus cattle possible that are functionally sound and create sustainable beef production operations for our customers. Starting in 2012 we initiated individual feed intake monitoring using a PinPointer 4000 feeder. Only a select few bulls make it into that program currently. Our open house bull sale is hel... d the first Saturday of March each year followed by private treaty sales to individual cattle producers at the HiPoint Feedlot. PAA relies on the Angus Genetic Evaluation program to seek out proven sires that give our customers calving ease, growth and efficiency following birth, and the end product consumers' demand. (See Herd Sire webpage.) Maternal calving performance, udder quality and disposition are important to us because we have to work and live with our cow herd just like you do. The PAA cow herd is managed as two units currently with the largest unit at Dan Cook's near New Providence. Tom Hilts manages a smaller unit northwest of Ames. Bulls are combined together for feeding, growth evaluation and ultrasound procedures.
