Use tab to navigate through the menu items. The clinic was founded in 1989 by Dr. Ron Warkman in downtown Langley as a traditional one chiropractor office. The practice successfully operated in this location for 8 years. In 1997 it expanded and moved to its current location in the Willoughby/ Willowbrook neighbourhood. The practice continued to ope... rate primarily as a chiropractic clinic. With the later addition of a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) the practice soon developed into a multi-disciplinary clinic. Dr. Warkman continued his work in soft tissue techniques and became certified in the emerging Active Release Techniques (ART®), later becoming an instructor in ART®. Proactive Chiropractic & Wellness Centre soon developed a reputation as the clinic local athletes select for treatment. In 2004 Dr. Leif Sigurdson, also certified in ART®, joined the practice. The addition of a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Brenna Jacks, ND and James Brise, RMT soon followed. In 2011 Andrea Forde, RMT joined the practice allowing it to offer RMT six days per week. In 2015 Dr. Leif Sigurdson purchased the practice, becoming the clinic director. All the practitioners at Proactive Chiropractic are committed to realizing the clinics mission of improving the community by improving the health and well-being of its citizens. The practitioners work towards this mission by helping patients return to their normal lives by relieving their pain and improving function.
