About POST Magazine

POST Magazine is a free and independent architecture magazine, about the everyday experience of buildings, spaces and cities. POST is based in Melbourne, Australia, and edited by Jacqui Alexander, Matthew Nowicki, Dan Salmon and Ben Sheridan. POST provides a venue for a discussion of use, occupation and experience of space, which is typically neglected in the architecture media. Within POST, the voice of the long term resident, the architect who has designed a space for themselves, the international academic, and the worker employed at the iconic building are given equal footing, and are published in addition to provocative works that answer the post-occupancy agenda. The magazine is committed to a pluralist discussion of architecture, and to strengthening the dialogue between those who design buildings and those who occupy them. Editorial content regularly includes interviews with visitors, employees and passers-by, at a selection of iconic or canonical buildings. These conversationsRead more

The magazine is committed to a pluralist discussion of architecture, and to strengthening the dialogue between those who design buildings and those who occupy them. Editorial content regularly includes interviews with visitors, employees and passers-by, at a selection of iconic or canonical buildings. These conversations generate a feedback loop, and an opportunity for exchange - encouraging public participation in the shaping of the built environment, but also enriching architecture discourse through a more balanced critique. For each issue, POST conducts and open call for abstracts, and also solicits works from a wide range of participants - writers, architects, artists, builders, photographers, historians and scientists - to ensure diversity. With support and funding from private individuals, local architectural practices, cultural institutions and a not-insignificant amount of our own funds, the POST team has now published four issues: Issue One: (Anti) Social Housing, Issue Two: Shrinking Cities, Issue Three: Memory, and Issue Four: Interim Use. POST remains an ongoing experimental and elastic project, which in 2014 expanded its repertoire beyond publishing to include participatory spatial and creative works. POST is available in print at participating retailers Australia wide, or internationally upon request. This website extends our ...Read More
