Positive Futures

Positive Futures is a Northern Ireland charity, founded in Bangor, Co Down on 2nd October 1995. At first we were called United Response Northern Ireland. We support children, young people and adults with a learning disability. The charity is recognised as a pioneer in its field and provides innovative, community-based services. Positive Futures' Mi... ssion is "working together to transform lives." Positive Futures involves people in their local communities, helps them to live as independently as possible and encourages people to speak for themselves and strive for their rights as equal, respected citizens. Positive Futures services include Supported Living, Adult Placement, Family Support Services and Housing Support Services. We work in partnership with the Health and Social Care Trusts, the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, Housing Associations, people with a learning disability and their families and carers. The charity started with one service, but now has services across Northern Ireland, employs about 400 staff and is supported by about 200 volunteers. Positive Futures provides Services from offices based in Bangor, Belfast, Cookstown, Lisburn, Lisnaskea, Magherafelt, Newry, Lisnaskea, Omagh and Portavogie.
