Pontiac Brewing Tribe

In November 2000, we became a 'nomadic tribe' when the King Brewery closed for a short time. We met at Dragonmead, Copper Canyon, Bo's, Rochester Mills, Redwood Lodge, and Big Buck. After almost a year of wandering, we grew tired of being homeless. Big Buck's head brewer, Eric Briggeman, offered to host our club meetings. So, beginning in 2001, Big... Buck Brewery in Auburn Hills became our new home. In April 2005, Eric accepted the position of head brewer with the Rochester Mills Beer Company in Rochester, and offered to host our meetings at Rochester Mills. We accepted, and that's how Pontiac came to Rochester. It was suggested that we change our name due to the location, but that motion was thoroughly defeated. In the fall of 2011, Rochester Mills began construction of the new Rochester Mills Production Brewery in Auburn Hills.
