The Podollan Hospitality Group began with David and Leah Podollan building and opening their first hotel in Fort McMurray Alberta in 1998. Today this Canadian family-owned business has grown exponentially and continues to raise the bar on hospitality and guest experience. The hotel in Salmon Arm, British Columbia was built in 2002 (sold in 2018), followed by the Podollan Rez-idence in Fort McMurray in 2003, and then in 2007 the Podollan Inn & Spa opened in Grande Prairie (sold in 2019) and the Rez-idence in Grande Prairie in 2009. Fast forward to 2018, this sophisticated boutique style hotel operation has 1 hotel and 1 rez-idence for extended stays, all totaling 349 rooms, 1 restaurants, 1 pub with 250 seats, one award winning spa, and a recent expansion at the hotels in Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray. Even more exciting for the Podollan team is the new hotel to open this summer in Grande Prairie, called the Podollan Airport Inn & Rez.
