Plateco, a second generation family owned business, is a zinc plating production shop which employs over 90 people and has been committed to providing its customers with high quality plating services for 40 years. The business was originally founded by four brothers in 1974 in a garage located in Necedah, WI. Success was experienced early leading t... o the building of the first plating facility, a 5000 sq. ft. plant, in Necedah, WI. in 1977. In 1978, the business separated and two of the brothers moved to the St. Louis area and started their own plating business. Allen & Gerald Schweich continued in Necedah until 1982, at which time the business expanded a second time. The operation was moved to Reedsburg, Wisconsin and a 10,000 sq. ft. facility was erected. Since the move to Reedsburg, there has been four building expansions, which bring the company to its current size of over 75,000 sq. ft., and have increased its number of employees from 10 to over 90. In 2012 Allen and Gerald retired and Plateco was passed on to the 2nd generation family members that operate the business today.
