In order to better serve our customers, Plantation Cable has installed and activated an additional internet circuit through Charter Communications. his new circuit gives us redundancy if our Primary Network circuit from AT&T has a failure or outage. Prior to this, the AT&T circuit was our only option for connecting our customers to the Internet. he... n they went down, we went down. In order to complete this transition, Plantation Cablevision had to acquire our own Internet Protocol (IP) addresses that can be routed over either the AT&T circuit or the Charter Circuit. ur current AT&T IP'swill only route over AT&T. We have begun the transition to these new IP's and for most customers this process will be seamless and cause no disruption of Internet service.However, we do have customers with "Static" IP's that may need to make a change in the settings of their hardware. e have contacted nearly all of these customers directly. ost of our customers do not use static IP's. ost are set up to get the IP address automatically. ur plan is to change the servers overnight on Sunday, so that all our customers that get their IP addresses automatically, will get a new Plantation Cablevision IP.
