About Plano Manufacturing

In 1952, Larry Plano began building catering trucks while working for his father and uncle. Ten years later in 1962, Larry's 4th child was born and he had to figure out a better way to support his growing family. As a young man with a lot of ambition, knowledge and experience, Larry decided to open his own business and start building PLANO catering truck bodies. Over the course of the next 46 years, Larry Plano became one of the largest inovators and designers of the entire catering truck industry. Not only was he able to start many of the designs that are still being used today, but he was able to design his products with the mindset of making it easy for any of his customers to be able to conduct most of the repairs needed to their units by themselves. He always wanted his products to be the best available, but with the ease and ability for anybody to work on. In 2009, Larry Plano passed away after a late discovery and short battle with cancer, leaving the company to his daughter, DiRead more

What does Plano Manufacturing do?

In 1952, Larry Plano began building catering trucks while working for his father and uncle. Ten years later in 1962, Larry's 4th child was born and he had to figure out a better way to support his growing family. As a young man with a lot of ambition, knowledge and experience, Larry decided to open his own business and start building PLANO catering... truck bodies. In 2009, Larry Plano passed away after a late discovery and short battle with cancer, leaving the company to his daughter, Diana, who worked with the company since she was a little girl. For almost 35 years, Larry and Diana had worked side by side with each other working and growing the company. Sadly, in 2014, Diana also lost her short battle with cancer, leaving the company to her two sons, Joe and Mike to carry on the family tradition. As the newest owners of the company, the 3rd generation Plano grandsons still carry over 35 years of hands on experience combined with the wisdom that has been passed on through the family over the years. PLANO manufacturing, Inc. thanks our continued success to our customers, suppliers, and friends that have helped us thrive for so many years.Read More
