Plainview Area United Way is a non-profit fund raising organization that provides funds to 9 different health and human service agencies in Plainview. Several of these agencies provide services and programs to communities in Hale County as well as other counties in the surrounding area. The money raised by Plainview Area Untied Way goes to these agencies. They offer services and assistance to grandparents, parents, families and individuals. In 1975 a number of concerned business people who were over worked by being involved in numerous fund raising campaigns o support human service agencies in our community, met to determine if a re-organization under the banner of United Way would be a viable alternative. They decided it would be a welcome change to be able to raise money to provide needed services in this community without multiple fund raising drives.
