Welcome to Pizzeria Gusto. Oklahoma City's first Neapolitan pizza restaurant. We are located in the historic Uptown district near 23rd Street and Walker Avenue. Our Stefano Ferarra oven was hand-built in Naples. We import our tomatoes, flour and other fine ingredients from Italy. In addition to amazing pizzas, we feature a great selection of sharab... le small plates, appetizers, salads and made from scratch desserts. Our bar features 11 beers on tap, along with a great assortment of bottled craft beers, wine and cutting edge cocktails. Naples Italy was the birthplace of pizza. In the late 1600s someone got the idea of topping the traditional flatbread of the region with tomatoes, cheese and other ingredients. Over hundreds of years the pizza makers of Naples have refined pizza making to an art. Neapolitan pizza (Pizza Napoletana) is a very simple but amazing combination of quality ingredients and a very intense wood fire. The dough is made with a very soft, fine type 00 flour from Italy. The tomato sauce is made from crushed San Marzano tomatoes which come from just east of Naples. Our oven was even hand-built in Naples. The size of the pie, the cooking time (about 90 seconds) and even the number of toppings are all dictated by the time honored tradition of Pizza Napoletana. The perfect pie will have small charred bubbles around the outside of the crust and the center will be soft. After experiencing Neapolitan pizza, its hard to go back to ordinary pizza.
