Pickett Hosiery has a history of outstanding service dating back to 1927 when the company were founded by Glenn Pickett. In 1972, Jame Nimrod Harris Jr. bought the business (walking in the footsteps of his grandfather who was also in textiles) and made it into the family owned operation it is today. The company occupy and own the company's 86,000 s... quare foot facility and can produce as much as 500,000 pairs of socks a week. The company's completely vertical operation enables the company to direct the company's production to the areas of greatest need and to offer the flexibility required in today's market. The company specializes in men's, women's, and children's socks with a concentration on the upper end of the company's protective performance socks (including those for medical purposes). The interest in the company's protective socks has increased very significantly and now includes the use of flame retardant fibers, cold weather socks, and insect repellent socks. Pickett has been a WRAP Certified company (World Wide Responsible Apparel Production) and over the same consecutive years had successful audits. Additionally, the company has successfully completed (no corrective recommendations) a very extensive audit of the company's Affirmative Action Policy and procedures by the Department of Labor.
