Philco, founded in 1906 in Philadelphia (USA), is the synthesis of "Philadelphia Company" (formerly known as Spencer Company and subsequently Helios Electric Company). In the beginning it was characterized as a company producing storage batteries. But later it pioneered in the early days of radio and television.
