PHEAA

The Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) was established by the Pennsylvania General Assembly in 1963 to provide affordable access to higher education for students and families in Pennsylvania. Over time, it has become one of the nations leading providers of student financial aid services, offering programs such as the PA Forward... Student Loan Program and Keystone Student Loans, which are available to students and families in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia. PHEAA also serves millions of students through guaranty, servicing, financial aid processing, and other programs. The Agencys earnings are used to support its public service mission and to cover operating costs, including administering the PA State Grant Program and other state-funded student aid initiatives. This contribution saves the Commonwealth millions of dollars each year. PHEAA continues to dedicate energy, resources, and innovation to developing programs that reduce the financial burden of higher education for students, families, schools, and taxpayers.
