About Pharmaceutical Horizons
Pharmaceutical Horizons was founded in 1989 by Allan Zaenger, R.Ph., MS., to provide consulting services and custom programs in drug cost and use management for health plans and managed care organizations. His experience with the Iowa Pharmacists Association in drug utilization review and prescription benefit administration led him to conclude there was a need in the health care market for guidance in these areas. From its beginnings in providing assistance to health plans in prescription drug program design and support services to plan pharmaceutical + therapeutic committees, Pharmaceutical Horizons proceeded to develop a series of valuable drug-usage management reports. These reports -- patient specific, drug class, and physician prescribing -- when compared to industry norms, provide a tool to design benefit options and educate and influence both physicians and patients in the choice of cost-effective drug therapy.Explore more
