Im the Pete part of Petes Autos & 4X4s Pete Thackray. Ive always had a passion for motors of all sorts and been in the business of tending to them for around 30 years. Back in July 2014 I grabbed an opportunity to open my own mechanical engineering business in Clevedon, North Somerset, and brought family members Jane and Paul on board. We started s... mall, but business quickly burgeoned as word got around from our satisfied customers that we not only do excellent work but are trustworthy and fairly priced. Put together my automotive experience with Pauls diverse qualifications as a mechanic, welder and fabricator and we have all the skills we need to service, maintain and repair any make and model of vehicle no matter how old, though we do have a particular love for Landrovers. I consider myself a bit of a Landrover expert, having been involved in rebuilding and restoring vintage versions (including the sought-after Series 1) since the 1990s. When you bring a Landrover or, in fact, any 4X4, to Petes Autos for attention of any sort you can be assured it will be treated with a great deal of respect and TLC and of course skilled workmanship. Were especially good at prepping four-wheel drive vehicles for expeditions or off-roading all that adventurous stuff that is grist to the mill of a 4X4 fan! Being a family business in a friendly local community, we tend to get to know our regular customers well that means we know their vehicles too and can keep them in tip-top condition. We do, however, also welcome customers from all over the area including Bristol just 13 miles away who seek us out usually due to word-of-mouth recommendations. Weve built our business on a reputation for excellence, both in our work and our customer service.
