PERSENTECH works closely with academic, government, and institutional research-oriented organizations to develop devices, software, processes and systems according to specific requirements. PERSENTECH also works with commercial enterprises and leverages existing product developments with application-specific business needs. In some project studies,... PERSENTECH takes on the role of the prime contractor and handles all project management, participant selection, installation, and development activities. In other cases, PERSENTECH provides takes on a support role and provides technical services for data analysis and new feature enhancements to existing products and systems. The following are brief descriptions of some projects and studies completed over the last 7 years. Transport Canada Canadian Vehicle Use Survey: Development of an autonomous data logger for cars and heavy-duty trucks. The development of a device that integrates GPS, OBDII, and GSM-GPRS technologies along with a user-input capability that provides access to the required information currently collected by Statistics Canada through the Canadian Vehicle Survey (CVS). Transport Canada - SafeMiles Project. An innovative driving behaviour modification project that measured participant's compliance with speed limits and vehicle headway distance, and that encouraged the participants to attain higher compliance rates through the collection of good driving points that were redeemable for rewards of goods and services. The project involved the development of the in-vehicle display device, the integration of a 60 GHz Continental Temic radar device, and the development of the web application software for the back-end data collection system. Ontario Health Research Institute (OHRI) "Candrive project". An interdisciplinary health-related research program dedicated to improving the safety of older drivers.
