Being the first company to launch Cold Glue to the South African market in 1954, Permoseal concluded a licensing agreement with Ebnother of Switzerland and began to manufacture locally in 1963. The Jacobs family acquired the business in 1984 and built a state of the art manufacturing plant in Montague Gardens, Cape Town in 1990. Today, Permoseal's retail brands include Alcolin, Bostik, Evo-Stik, Perma Products and Sugru, while Alcolin, Bostik, Nortec and Gluepaste service the industrial market. The Alcolin brand is synonymous with quality DIY products and has remained the brand leader in South Africa since its launch. Close international ties ensure that Alcolin's product ranges are manufactured to exacting standards. Permoseal boasts advanced adhesive laboratory facilities, with quality control being of the highest standard. Ongoing research and development is always a top priority, and has resulted in the regular launch of new products in the consumer, industrial and construction markets.
