Periscope Books

Periscope is a new UK-based imprint launching in the spring of 2015, presenting bold, distinctive voices in fiction and non-fiction from around the world. We shall publish a handful of novels during the first part of the year, followed by non-fiction books in the second wave. Periscope's founding comes during a tumultuous era for authors, publisher... s, booksellers and readers. We maintain that although the industry is changing, the power of narrative to question, inspire, inform and stir remains constant. The once-feared "death of the book" is no longer the spectre it appeared to be at the event horizon of digital reading technology; yet publishers must work more creatively, keeping pace with the challenges that face writers, readers and markets instead of dwelling anxiously on them. We're committed to bringing lovely books into the world. The physical book must be a finely crafted objet to covet and keep, and the digital book must be made available on a multiplicity of platforms. Revelling in its size as a small publisher, Periscope will move nimbly in a heavily consolidated publishing environment.
