Penrith Farms

Penrith Farms is a young adult program in Washington state. We transition troubled young adults experiencing a failure to launch into adulthood and independent living. Our program for young adults utilizes a different model than most of our competition. Notably, we involve our residents in real world situations on a working farm. In addition, Penri... th Farms provides a home like environment with real work and real outcomes. As a result, participants of our young adult program are able to validate themselves in a working environment. All of this is accomplished by providing a safe environment in which to make mistakes. An environment where young adults learn through experience and receive the support they need to be a success. Most of our clients already have distrust for therapists and traditional treatment facilities before they arrive at Penrith Farms. Consequently, this distrust is why counseling at Penrith Farms happens spontaneously. Our counseling method happens in the moment as a situation develop rather than scheduled traditional therapy sessions out of context. In the end, students at our program for young adults develop awareness of their behavior and emotions in real time. Specifically, we provide coaching, counseling, mentoring, and therapy thus allowing troubled young adults to recognize their emotions and resolve them.
