About Penrith City Council
Penrith City Council,s Mobile Playvan and Pre-school have operated in the Glenmore Park Estate since 1993. A community centre was completed in 1993 followed by a Council auspiced Before and After school care centre with services for 45 after school care places and 15 before school care places. There is also 45 vacation care places. A corner store retail shop was fast-tracked by Council in 1995 in response to community needs. An additional Department of School Education primary school opened in 1997. In addition a Catholic primary school opened in 1996. The Glenmore Park High School is expected to provide classes for Years 7 and 8 in 1998. Provision of adequate bus services has been an outstanding issue during the rapid develoment of the estate, particularly in the Woodlands Estate. An additional community centre and community worker hours (currently 17.5 per week) are identified priorities for the local community.
