Peace Projects Grant Program

Since its establishment in 1994, JWF has organized events promoting peace, tolerance and dialogue through platforms that work under its umbrella. Conflict resolution and peacebuilding efforts that take place through these platforms reflect JWF's understanding that peace is a dynamic process which requires both short-term response to address the imm... ediate needs of the communities impacted by conflicts and a long term vision to establish sustainable peace. JWF believes that in order to be effective and long lasting, peacebuilding and conflict resolution strategies must be supported by society in general, involve all relevant stakeholders, and must address the social, economic, psychological, and environmental needs of the parties, build local capacities, and empower community members. In this spirit, Peace Projects aims to: Foster dialogue, respect and understanding between conflicting parties; Promote post-conflict peacebuilding and development; Increase peacebuilding and conflict resolution capacity at the local, national and international levels; Support implementation of innovative conflict resolution and peacebuilding efforts focused on preventing, managing and resolving violent conflict and promoting post-conflict peacebuilding, reconciliation and dialogue in communities experiencing conflict; Further principles of human security, good governance, respect for rule of law and human rights, gender empowerment, and social and economic development; Explore, develop and utilize local resources for conflict resolution, peacebuilding, and development.
