PasquotankCamden EMS is a Paramedic level EMS organization serving both Pasquotank and Camden counties located in Northeastern NC. Pasquotank-Camden County EMS operates out of one centralized station located in Elizabeth City, NC and three satellite stations located in the more rural areas of each county. PasquotankCamden EMS is licensed by the Nor... th Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services and employs approximately 54 full time, 42 part time technicians, and supplemented by a little over a dozen volunteer reserve personnel. Administrative staff includes an EMS Director, Assistant EMS Director, 4 Operational Supervisors, a Non-Emergency Transport Coordinator, EMS Training Officer and a four person billing office staff. All staff members are employees of Pasquotank County local government. PasquotankCamden EMS serves an area of 468 square miles with a population of over 50,000 people. It is a paid service that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. PasquotankCamden EMS operates a total of 13 ambulances and provides daily staffing for 6 emergency ambulances, 1 quick response vehicle, and 3-4 nonemergency ambulances which provide transportation to/from nursing facilities, hospitals and physicianappointments during peak hours. Our department is the exclusive sole provider of both 911 and nonemergency ambulance service for the two county region 24 hours a day/7 days a week. Each of these EMS teams provide continuous, quality pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency care to the residents and visitors of the two counties. Annual projections for year 2014 are expected to be in excess of 11,000 total requests for EMS service with prior years numbers gradually increasing each year. Patients are routinely transported locally to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center as the primary hospital for the region.
