Parker Tractor

At an early age Dutch Parker revealed that he shared the values of integrity, quality, commitment and innovation that form the foundation of the John Deere company. As a young teenager working behind the counter at the John Deere dealership in Marked Tree, Arkansas, in the early 1940s, Parker eagerly embraced the agricultural industry, its people a... nd the John Deere brand. Soon America entered WWII and Parker would join our nations forces in bringing peace to the world. After returning home Parker began his own successful farming operation in the Marked Tree area, eventually earning the opportunity to purchase the local John Deere dealership there while still in his late twenties. Showing the diversity that is a trademark of the John Deere company, Parker moved to Tunica County, Mississippi in 1955 and produced his first crop in the Magnolia State in the fall of 1956. While still owning and operating their business in Arkansas, Parker and wife Skeet quickly became valuable members of the Tunica community, bringing their dedication, motivation and innovation to the Mississippi Delta as they began to build their family. Parker continued to bring his own innovative ideas to the farming industry and John Deere brand, sharing the knowledge and experience he gained over the years with his daughter Nancy and grandsons Buckley, Parker and Nick Graves. In 1984 Parker was offered the opportunity to purchase then Planters Tractor in Tunica County, changing the name to Parker Tractor and Implement Company Inc. while continuing to operate on the leading edge of the industry.
