PBB is a harm prevention organisation that works with our clients through a process, not a transaction, and our core purpose is to empower the individual to achieve a new perspective and path to a different way of parenting. It is the value of the peer support model that creates a safe reflective space, builds connection and allows parents going th... rough separation to reduce the risk of suicide. We are a service based, volunteer organisation for distressed, displaced parents. We educate, support, guide and re-engage parents to avoid the downward spiral that can take hold post separation, utilising a peer support model and experienced, trained field leaders. Our core development programs, peer support groups and deeply experienced volunteers in the field can intervene when it matters most. For the displaced, separated parents - there is no manual, and being a displaced, separated parent means change and inevitably challenge. Taking part in PBB is a positive step for separated parents to learn from others how to deal effectively with change, and the work that they are taking up is positive, formative and engaging. Family breakup and separation is never easy - for the displaced parent it can mean a downward, damaging spiral for all involved.
