About Paper Tree
Paper Tree is family owned and operated, and is celebrating it's 48th year as a retail store in Japantown. Prior to opening the retail store, the Mihara family owned a publishing and import business called Oriental Culture Books in the 1950's, also based in Japantown. The Mihara's published one of the first origami books in english in the 1950's and today their grandchildren and great-grandchildren continue the tradition of teaching and sharing origami around the world. Sisters Vicky Mihara Avery and Linda Mihara are both award-winning origami artisans and have been featured in mutiple books, shows, and more.
