Padre Pio Academy

Padre Pio Academy is a cooperative-style supplement for the homeschooling families of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Front Royal, VA. Under the patronage of St. Pio of Pietrelcina, our program is designed to help those families who might benefit from such assistance. Meeting three mornings a week, each Monday, Wednesday and Friday during t... he academic year, we provide a basic framework to keep homeschooling students on track in a low pressure classroom setting. The elementary school meets from 9:151:30, offering Language Arts and Math each day with the third session rotating once a week between History, Science, and Religion. Students may arrive after morning Mass, usually about 9:10 am. A session of Music will be offered once or twice a week until the official start of our day, ending with a brief assembly of all students for opening prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance. High School students may sign up for individual classes offered each Monday, Wednesday and Friday and scheduled throughout the day from 9:15 4:05. Padre Pio Academy functions as another section of Religious Education. Your registration with us serves as your registration for your childs R.E. class, including sacrament classes. Please make sure you request and read our Religious Education Handbook. Our day will begin with 8:30 Mass (optional) and students may arrive at the Academy after Mass. Please make sure that your child takes care of all bathroom needs prior to arrival. Students are not permitted to hang out with friends on the stairwell or church porch after Mass. They must go immediately to their classes. We do not promise certified teachers, yet many of our teachers do have advanced degrees.
