The driving force behind the formation of their partnership was a common customer served by both companies, McDonalds. In 1987, McDonalds wanted a single dedicated bakery to manufacture buns and soft rolls to serve their restaurants in the Pacific Northwest. Members of the McDonalds Bakery Council and Supply Chain teams helped facilitate discussions between the two competitors, and construction of a dedicated McDonalds bun bakery was started in 1988. Pacific Northwest Baking Co. started serving McDonalds restaurants as a company in 1989. The company's company has grown quite a bit through the company's nearly 30 years of service to the McDonalds system. While the company continue to serve more than 580 McDonalds restaurants in six Western States with high quality buns and rolls, the company has expanded the company's customer base to include some additional retail and restaurant businesses in the region.Read More
