John Rickard has some 40 years of experience in design, construction, and code consulting and is both a registered architect and engineer in the state of Texas. He has particular interest in the long-term effects of design decisions on facility safety, function, and operating costs. A member of the National Fire Protection Association's (NFPA) Stan... dards Council from 2012 through 2017, John is also a member of the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Civil Engineers. In 2016, he was appointed to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation's Architectural Barriers Advisory Board. Before founding P3 Consulting in 2013, John was a founding partner of architectural design firms Pi Architects & Engineers and Katus, LLC. A native of Houston, John received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Virginia and his Master of Engineering in Construction Management from the University of Texas at Austin. James Rickard has been a Registered Accessibility Specialist with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation since 2008. He can shepherd you efficiently and competently through the process of complying with the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS)--from plan review through inspection. His clients include public agencies, such as Texas Parks and Wildlife and the Lower Colorado River Authority, as well as architects and architectural firms that design schools, hospitals, clinics, retail spaces, and myriad other public spaces that must comply with TAS.
