Oxberry LLC* is a leading manufacturer of film scanners and film recorders, and has been an industry leader since its inception in 1947. Oxberry introduced the first commercial cel animation stand in 1947. Ten years later, the company introduced the first commercial aerial image optical printer. More recently, the company has focused on bridging th... e gap between digital and analog media, and in 1984, Oxberry unveiled the first digital to motion picture turn recorder. This was followed in 1987 with the introduction of the first commercial motion picture scanner. Oxberry currently manufactures the Cinescan, a digital scanner with a pin-registered shuttle that also features a 12-bit, 2K by 3K camera. The earlier version was driven by software written for Silicon Graphics' (SGI) popular IRIX operating system. The latest revision of the Cinescan, however, is driven by software written for Windows NT/2000/XP. The Oxscan 3000 is a self-contained scan system which captures pin-registered 16 and 35 mm images at resolutions up to 3K by 2K with 12 or 10-bit dynamic range and is driven by software designed for Windows NT/2000/XP. Oxberry also manufactures a full immersion liquid gate which is considered indispensable for film scanning operations in which the film in not in perfect condition.
