Our First Dance

I have been teaching social partner dancing in the Seattle area since 1998. Early on I found that there was quite a demand for private lessons for those getting ready for their wedding, as well as private small group lessons, and I enjoyed doing this immensely. Then, after my own wedding, I decided that I wanted to spend more time working with brid... es and grooms to be, since it was what I loved doing most. Thus, the idea for Our First Dance was born in the Winter of 2000. In creating my business, I decided to offer an open group class in addition to private lessons, where couples stay together during the class (a frequent request), and to keep the class size small so that everyone gets as much individual attention as they need. I'm happy to say that Our First Dance has been going strong ever since, and I look forward to all the wonderful experiences it brings. This is me and my husband Matthew dancing our first dance at our wedding reception. Still feeling like a newly wed myself (we were married in 1999), the first dance will always be close to my heart. I've been dancing all of my life, starting here with Dad in the living room. (Once a ham, always a ham!) At the age of seven I took my first ballet class, and I have been dancing ever since.
