Oregon Retrievers, in Medford, Oregon is owned and operated by Tom and Sue Ross. We are the largest field bred Labrador breeding kennel on the West Coast that we know of. Our facility is located in beautiful Southern Oregon, just 45 minutes from the California border. We have sixty-five acres of premium training grounds which include five training... ponds. We raise our own training birds which include ducks and pigeon and we have an ongoing local supply of pheasant. Our training grounds are designed to train both upland and waterfowl hunting dogs to more extensive training for the field trial or hunt test dogs. Tom has been training field trial dogs and hunting dogs for the past 25 years. He successfully competes in field trials and AKC hunt tests. He is also an avid hunter and loves hunting both upland and waterfowl, not to mention deer, elk and you name it! Sue trains all of the obedience dogs. When there's time in-between puppy sales, office work, running the breeding program and picking kids up from school, she will train a hunting dog now and then. She has successfully shown in the obedience ring and teaches group obedience classes. Our breeding program was established over 25 years ago and is a very proven one at that! We are devoted to producing a pup that is primarily a hunting/family dog yet has the potential to run field trials or hunt tests. Many of our dogs have been sold to drug and bomb detection agencies, search and rescue and have been used to help the handicapped. We raise all three colors, black, yellow and chocolate. All of our puppies are raised around children. We have two beautiful daughters, ages 15 years and 8 years old. Their main job at the kennel is puppy socializing! We also have an extensive started hunting dog program. We have started dogs ranging from 4 month old pups, just started on their obedience and worked with retrieving and birds, to older dogs that are ready to hunt.
