Okamoto Saijo Architecture (OSA) focuses on innovative designs in housing, ecological design and neighborhood planning. OSA has recently completed several neighborhood housing developments and several custom passive solar residences. Founded in 1991, both Paul Okamoto and Eric Saijo are licensed California architects and they each have over twenty-five years of architectural experience. Both partners have expertise with concrete, steel and wood-framed construction. They are also familiar with the city planning approval and landmark processes and all phases of architectural services from programming to construction administration. OSA is registered with the San Francisco Human Rights Commission as a LBE. OSA regularly works, both as architects and as public advocates, with non-profit community and environmental organizations to enhance the quality of life in the Bay Area. Paul and Eric have also played an active role in non-profit organizations such as the Asian Pacific Environmental Network, East Palo Alto Historical & Agricultural Society, Greenbelt Alliance, Urban Ecology and the Urban Habitat Program. Paul has been Chair of the Advisory Council for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (1998-99), and an appointed member of the Commission on the Environment for the City of San Francisco (1993-99), where he worked on the first resource-efficient ordinance for the City.
