Ohio Valley Manor, Inc., a privately held corporation, was conceived in the late 1960's by a small group of local entrepreneurs concerned about the lack of availability of high quality long term care in Brown County and the surrounding areas. Over the next two years, plans were developed, reviewed and revised, the certificate of need received, cons... truction initiated and application for licensure and certification made. On April 9, 1971, the area's first 50-bed nursing facility --- called Ohio Valley Manor Convalescent Center --- officially opened. Since its inception, Ohio Valley Manor's ownership has continued to be local and responsive to meeting community needs with continued commitment and dedication to the financial and personal investments necessary to growth.
