About Octane Management

The group's first company, Octane Management Inc., was founded in Montreal by Franois Dumontier. It started promoting motorsports events in December 2008, when Stock-Car Montréal s.e.c. (a subsidiary of International Speedway Corporation) awarded it the mandate to serve as associate promoter (organization and promotion) of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge, a race in the NASCAR Nationwide series. Mr. Dumontier formed a professional team built around a core of ex-employees of the former Grand Prix du Canada promoter. Octane Management presented its first NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge on August 7 and 8, 2009. The Octane Racing Group was established in the fall of 2009, after the signing of an agreement with Formula One Administration Limited and Formula 1 World Championship Limited (which together hold commercial rights to Formula 1 racing), acquiring exclusive rights to present the Grand Prix du Canada Formula 1 race. Octane Racing Group Inc. presented its first Grand Prix du Canada on June 11, 12 and 13, 2010, along with a lead-in event on June 10, the first annual Grand Soir gala. Octane Management presented its second NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge on August 28 and 29, 2010. In June 2010, the return of the Grand Prix du Canada was a huge success, with more than 300,000 people flocking back to the track, confirming the enduring popularity of North America's only Grand Prix. In October 2011, because Stock-Car Montréal had ceded its right to present a NASCAR Nationwide series race, Octane Management Inc. reached a direct agreement with NASCAR to present the 2012 edition of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge in Montreal.
