Oceanskies was co-founded by Duncan Swanson who is considered to be one of the world's leading specialists in the field of yacht registration. Duncan has enjoyed the privilege and responsibility of registering some of the largest and most interesting yachts sailing the world's oceans today. In his career to date he estimates that he has been involv... ed in the registration of over eight hundred vessels of all sizes. A born and bred Guernseyman, Duncan has from an early age been a passionate enthusiast of all things nautical and aeronautical. Educated in Guernsey at Elizabeth College and having graduated from Aston University in Birmingham with a B.Sc.(Honours) degree in Transport Management he worked for the chartered accountancy firm of Coopers & Lybrand (now Pricewaterhouse Coopers). In 2013 Duncan moved to Safehaven International Limited, a leading provider of corporate superyacht and aircraft ownership structures where he became a Director in 2005. In addition to being responsible for the company's yacht registration activities, Duncan headed up the company's marine team handling all aspects of yacht purchases, sales, structuring and operation. Duncan was closely involved with the development of the company's portfolio of corporate yacht ownership structuring including arrangements made in the Channel Islands, Cayman Islands and Isle of Man. Duncan was also involved with the creation of an office in Malta and the development of both yacht charter and yacht leasing structures established in Malta. At university Duncan's final thesis, somewhat prophetically, was written on the future growth of private and corporate aircraft. Whilst working for his former employers Duncan became responsible for the development of the company's services into the private and business aviation markets in respect of aircraft ownership structuring and registration.
