OBrien Road & Bridge Maintenance Ltd. (OBR) has been the Highways Maintenance Contractor for the Province of British Columbia in Service Area 27 North Coast since 1988. Over the 30 years of servicing Area 27 OBR has developed a significant understanding and appreciation for the entire area. Service Area 27 encompasses QCI/Haida Gwaii, Prince Rupert... , and the outlying areas of Oona River, Port Simpson, Alice Arm, Osland, Dodge Cove, Hunts Inlet and Klemtu. The geography of the North Coast, QCI/Haida Gwaii and all the remote outlying areas present a range of challenges for highway maintenance including micro climates, material and equipment mobilization, landslides, avalanche, earthquakes, tsunami warnings, coastal storms as well as extreme high wind and rain events. OBrien Road & Bridge Maintenance Ltd. has adapted to these unique situations and areas throughout the years. OBR places an emphasis on good working relationships with the diverse stakeholders, communities and villages that encompass Service Area 27.
