Nyce Gardens is a family owned business blending the talents of husband and wife along with a strong staff of dedicated landscape professionals. Our designs blend the individuality of the owner with our experience, education and training. Our construction philosophy is to 'build it right' therefore it is sustainable and safe. We are members of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the Irrigation Association, Northwest Horticultural Society, Plant Amnesty , Sammamish Chamber of Commerce, and the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals. Staying Current is important to Nyce Gardens. Rain Gardens: Sustainability encourages us to retain water on site via rain gardens and cisterns rather than send it to the storm drains . Nyce Gardens is an active particapant in Seattle Public Utilities Rain Garden and Cistern program as an approved installation contractors for the Seattle Rainwise program. Smart Irrigation: Jay, a Certified Irrigation Contractor, and Rob just attended a workshop for trouble shooting irrigaiton problems and are working with moisture sensors to reduce water waste. In 2011 we designed and installed an irrigation system for Holy Cross Church, in Redmond, using reclaimed storm water stored in a vault under the parking lot. This was a first for the city of Redmond, has preformed flawlessly and by the clients calulations saved them $1500 in water bills the first year. Lighting: LED lights finally have come out in good light quality and color. Jay has assembled a demo kit and is advocating their use. In a comparision the same light fixture in halogen operates 2000 hrs where the LED will go 50,000.
