Over the years, the four NTECC cities have cooperated on a number of initiatives including highly interactive service delivery models among their fire departments, shared resources and teams within the police departments, and participation on a common radio system initiative. Consolidation of dispatch is a strategy to allow the cities to leverage their current capabilities into a larger and stronger organization.
